Kell Brook
Kell Brook will eventually face Michael Jennings on 3rd July this year, in a summer showdown that has all the hallmarks for a classic war of the roses battle.

The fight which has fell through a couple of times has been ear marked for this summer according sources, promoter Frank Warren will officially announce the bout this week.

Sheffields Kell Brook (21-0, 14 KOs) is still unbeaten in his career so far, although he has yet to mix in a higher level, but Jennings should provide that for him and will hope to derail Brook’s hopes of  a shot at the WBO title held by Manny Pacquiao, Brook beat Krzysztof Bienias last time out in a WBO world title eliminator, (fight video below) But feels there is still unfinished business still at home with Jennings.

Michael Jennings
Michael ‘The Lurchur’ Jennings’ (36-2, 17 KOs) himself stepped up to world level and lost to Miguel Cotto for the vacant WBO title. Cotto took just five rounds to stop Jennings with a wicked body shot that  he couldn’t shake the effects of. Jennings has won his last two fights since then, a fourth round TKO over Willie Thompson, and the other an eight round decision against Hungarian Laszlo Komjathi.

Brook has never been behond eight rounds, whilst Jennings has done the twelve round championship distance three times, and is more experienced, but with Brook looking to establish himself as one of the best British boxers around and Jennings’ hoping to revive his own world title aspirations, this could be a British Boxing classic in the making.
Kell Brook takes a step closer to a world title by lifting the WBO Intercontinental welterweight title in Liverpool against the champion Krzysztof Bienias
