Derek Chisora British Heavyweight Champion
Derek Chisora the new British Heavyweight champion is now looking to renew old acquaintances with former foe and the much improved Commonwealth champion Sam Sexton.

They both fought two years ago when Chisora stopped Sexton in six rounds. Since then Sexton has gone on to rebuild his career and was lined up himself to fight Danny Williams last time out for the Lonsdale belt, but had to withdraw due of personal problems.

In stepped Chisora has a late replacement and won the Lonsdale belt stopping the now retired Danny Williams in 2 rounds and is now again looking at Sexton.

The fight is almost certainly next in the pecking order for both and naturally makes itself and Chisora is confident he can repeat the first fight result and claim Sexton’s Commonwealth title.

“I said when I beat Williams that I would fight anyone in Britain, and that includes Sexton, I’ve beaten him once and I’ll beat him again if I have to fight him.

He’s a nice guy but can he take my power? I think we saw the last time we fought that he can’t.

I’ll respect him if he gets in the ring with me, but it’s the same result if we have a rematch. In fact, this time I think I’ll knock him clean out rather than just stopping him.

Everyone keeps talking about how much Sexton has improved in the last couple of years, but what about me?

I’m a championship fighter now and I’m ready for championship fights. Sam got to fight for a title before I did, but I’ll end up going further.”
