Kell Brook wants Khan
Frank Warren has made a offer to his former boxing star Amir Khan to face his latest promotional prodigy Kell Brook.

Sheffield’s  Brook is hot from his two-round destruction of Philip Kotey (fight video below) and has lined himself up for a shot at the WBO World Welterweight title next year, but wants a fight with Khan first.
A fight between the pair would have weight issues with Brook campaigning the 6lbs heavier than Khan at welterweight and would either mean Brook (right) dropping a weight, Khan moving up or a catch weight clash.
Khan though is in a great position at the moment at light-welter weight and has aspiration to unify the division and will hopefully have the chance to do so next year against the winner of fellow title holders Devon Alexander and Timothy Bradley who meet in January.

WBA World Light-Welterweight Champion Khan defeated Marco Maidana in Las Vegas in  what is likely to be the fight of the year and Khan has said that he wants his next fight to be staged in England sometime in 2011 and a match-up with British champion Brook would be a mouth watering affair for the UK fight fans.

Kell Brook vs Philip Kotey

“Kell looked fantastic against Kotey and proved he is ready for the best in the world. said Warren.

“There is talk of him facing Floyd Mayweather which is nonsense and he should take up the big offer I’ve made to him to take on Kell.

“It’s a huge fight for the British public and one that they would want to see.”

Brook has set himself a target for 2011 to become the best welterweight in the world.

He wants to keep busy and test himself against the world’s elite, starting with Khan.

“Khan’s a great fighter and proved himself against Maidana, but I know I can beat him.”

“There is no doubting that he has plenty of fighting heart after digging deep to beat Maidana and proving himself to be a true warrior.

“I’d love to get it on with him next year, Frank’s made him the offer and I hope he accepts it so we can find out who is the best.

“Of course there is Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao in the division as well and I’d like to face them at some point.

“People will say don’t run before you can walk, but no one has seen the best of me yet.

“I’ve got two or three gears to go up at least, and I just want an opponent who will bring out what I’ve been producing in the gym.”
