British Boxers visited Gallagher’s Gym in Manchester to find out about Anthony Crolla’s English title defence against Carl Johansson on February 26th 2011 at the Reebok Stadium Bolton.

The English super-featherweight fight and final eliminator for the British title, is according to Joe Gallagher, Crolla’s coach, an encounter that is worthy of a British title in itself.
This is an unbelievable fight for what we call a final eliminator. I’ll have to look back through the record books, but I cant see too many well matched, hungry, hard hitting fighters, fighting each other without it being for a British title on the line.” – Joe Gallagher.
Anthony ‘Million Dollar’ Crolla
Crolla, nicknamed ‘Million Dollar’ is used to being in hard fights recently and since he lost to Gary Sykes in May 2009, he has had to take on some tough opponents in order to climb back up the rankings. Which accumulated in his ring war and our ‘British fight of 2010’ against fellow Mancunian Andy Morris for the English belt.

The unassuming Crolla with the film star looks, Hollywood boxing skills and Oscar winning bravery, is not taking the Yorkshire man lightly and expects another tough night. But Crolla is confident he will over come the Leeds battler, setting up a rematch against Gary Sykes for the Lonsdale belt.

“Its a real tough fight and its a fight that really puts fear into me.” – said Crolla.

“But I believe them kind of fights, like my last few fights, that brings the best out of me and its a fight I cant wait for.
“Ive got a lot of respect for Carl Johanneson as a fighter, you just look at his career to see what a good fighter he is. Anthony Crolla
“I really think that 2011 will be my year and I’m really confident I will do a job on February 26.

“Ive said in the past that I didn’t always believe in myself, where as now I’m a very confident fighter and I know the condition that Joe gets me in and the things that we work on. Come fight time all boxes are ticked in preparation so its just a matter of going out and doing a job.”

“Gary Sykes is the current champion and that’s the fight I’ve been crying out for the last year now, I’ve wanted that fight so bad. But id be stupid to overlook Carl Johanneson.” Crolla added. – See the Full interview on the above video…

The Fight is on the undercard of Stephen Foster Jnr’s first defence of his European super-featherweight title against Ermano Fegatilli in the Premier Suite, Reebok Stadium, Bolton.
English super-bantamweight champion Craig Lyon, Olympic star Joe Murray, John Fewkes, Keiron Maher, Richard Towers and Adam Etches will also be in action.
