Derry Matthews won the vacant IBO International lightweight title with a unanimous points win over previous conqueror Scott Lawton.

The 27-year-old Scouser took a unanimous decision 118-109, 116-111 and 118-110 on the judges’ scorecards at Liverpool’s Olympia on Saturday night. 
Lawton from Stoke had beaten Matthews in 2009 by a 6th round KO. But this time, Liverpool’s ‘Dirty’ Derry was not to be denied, out boxing the Stoke man in front of his home fans. updated soon.
