Former WBC light-Welterweight champion Junior Witter (37-3-2, 22 KO’s), from Sheffield, England, steps up to welterweight for his ring return, against Victor Lupo (18-1-2, 9 KO’s) on Saturday, February 19th, at the Hershey Centre, Ontario, Canada.

Witter,(right) claimed the WBC world title in September 2006 by stopping DeMarcus “Chop Chop” Corley, hasn’t fought since his WBC light-welterweight title defeat against the now division kingpin Devon Alexander, and is itching to prove he still has what it takes to sit atop the boxing world.

“Junior has fought the best in the world at 140 lbs. When Witter steps into the Hershey Centre ring, fans will be treated to not only a former WBC champion, but truly one of the best fighters in the world making his welterweight debut.” said Adam Harris – McGuinness’ promoter, and president of Hennessy Sports Canada.

“Hands down, this is the best boxing card I can remember in Ontario, and a huge night for our company as a whole. As always we look forward to collaborating with Don Macdonald and Tyler Buxton of United Promotions on another great show.” added Harris.
The Hitter’ has just three defeats on his record – and they are to the very best, in light-welterweight champions Alexander and Timothy Bradley and former world champion and pound for pound rated Zab Judah.
Witters comeback foe, the Romanian-born Lupo, who now lives in Toronto, has suffered just one loss in his 21-fight career.
In London on the same night Hennessy Sports will feature the best of their UK stable will be in action, including rising welterweight star John O’Donnell, Light Welterweight warrior Lenny Dawes, and undefeated heavyweight sensation Tyson Fury.
