Gavin who does his training in Manchester under former boxer Anthony Farnell has not fought now for five months. He was due to box last December in Liverpool against Dean Harrison, but had to withdraw because of flu. He was originally set to feature on the York Hall show in an eight rounder.

Gavin, 25, was hoping to be fighting in a British light-welterweight title eliminator on the night with a view to challenging current champion Lenny Daws, who also fights on Saturday night against American-based Brit Ashley Theophane at Wembley Arena and that still remains in the balance.
