Tyson Fury out-pointed Dereck Chisora to claim the British and Commonwealth titles in an hard fought 12 round battle of the heavyweights at Wembley Arena on Saturday night.
Fury controlled the pace of the fight and outworked his opponent with combination punching, over twelve hard fought rounds of heavyweight action. Neither fighter had been twelve rounds before, and it was Fury who paced himself well to finish the fight strong.
Chisora had his moments in the early stages of the fight and rocked Fury in Round 2. But he was not able to capitalise and couldn’t regain control or the momentum of the fight.
Fury was awarded a unanimous decision with judges scores reading 118-111 and 117-112 (twice) all in favor of the Manchester heavyweight.

Theophane retains his British title with 10th round KO of Cook
Ashley Theophane stopped Jason Cook in the 10th round in the first defence of his British light-welterweight title
Cook, unsettled the champion early on with some intelligent pressure fighting and Theophane’s frustration was clear when he was docked a point for low blows in round five.
But the champion, regrouped, found his wind and range, started to look sharper, using his good combinations before flooring Cook with a sweet left hook to the body in round 10.
“As I expected Jason Cook started fast. It is a 12 round fight and I just felt I could stop him going in to our bout. My game plan just like with Daws, worked perfectly.” Theophane told BritishBoxers.
“I could of started fast but I let Jason waste his wild shots on my arms and gloves then I broke him down.
“I knew he was looking for a way out when he started to complain about my body shots.
From round five I got into my groove and had worked out Cook’s style and I started to have it all my own way. I think my performance showed I’m World class.
“It was a great way to get my 30th win against the Welsh champion and European number six.” he added.
