Cleverly Celebrates his win with dad Vince

The fight lived up to the pre fight hype and both of these Gladiators exchanged blows, trading toe to toe for every second of this bruising all British world title fight.

Fight predictions before hand were 50/50 and in the end that is how the fight split the judges, ringside press and fans….. 50/50.

Both boxers were respectful to each other after the fight and all the previous bad blood had now been spilt and put behind them, as they embraced in their new found respect for the other.

Both deserve big respect for their performances, Cleverly will hope promoter Frank Warren can now secure him a World title unification match-up against the winner of Bernard Hopkins and Chad Dawson who fight in America some hours later.

Bellew proved his metal and his boxing abilities and will come again the better for this battle. A few more fights at domestic level and the Liverpudlian, who was cheered to the rafters by his home fans can make an assault on the world scene again.

Full fight report and undercard results, including James DeGale’s European title win against Piotr Wilczewski, will be available here soon.
