Blackpool’s Matty Askin takes on Birtley’s Jon Lewis Dickenson, 10-2 (3), for the vacant English cruiserweight title on Saturday 21 April in what will be his first major test as a pro.  Askin is motoring since joining veteran trainer Bob Shannon in 2011.  Askin hopes to beat the more experienced man and set-up a British title showdown with Shane McPhilbin should current titlist Enzo Maccarinelli vacate the title he recently wrested from McPhilbin to return to 175lbs.

Askin had a short amateur career, but he brought home an ABA title in 2008 and believes that he can win major honours during his professional career.  “The Assassin” talks exclusively to www.britishboxers.co.uk about his hopes for the future as well as analysing the Dickenson clash.
