Rumours are rife that David Haye and Dereck Chisora could meet in grudge match to end the bad blood that has been built up between the two British boxers and which came to an almighty head at the now infamous Munich post fight press conference, after Chisora’s world title challenge against Vitali Klitschko in February.

Promoter Frank Warren holds a press conference on Tuesday this week at WestHam Football Club’s Upton Park in London and is expected to announce a fight between WBO lightweight champion Ricky Burns and Kevin Mitchell, which in itself is a fight to behold and one to look forward to, it’s expected for July 14.

But the news spreading about like wild fire is that Mr Warren will also throw a real cat amongst the pigeons and break the big news that David Haye and Dereck Chisora will get it on in an heavyweight tussle, that it seems is being propelled has the biggest heavyweight fight out there!

It is now common knowledge what happened in the aftermath of the Presser brawl, Chisora had his boxing licence suspended indefinitely by the BBBofC and Haye who had already handed back his licence after officially retiring in October last year, is yet to face any backlash from the unfortunate episode.

The Munich Police department are currently investigating and have contacted all peoples who were present on that night in Munich. They are in the process of building a case and if the pair fight or not, they will have to answer to the German authorities at some point.

If the fight is announced, and it isn’t the foregone conclusion many think, It is almost impossible that the British Boxing Board of Control will bow down and grant Chisora his licence without anytime for him to convince them that he deserves it back.  Of course Chisoira could argue that by taking his licence away then you also take away his means to make a living and under certain European laws, DelBoy would have a case.  He can apply for his licence back, in June, but that would put any fight in the balance, as it isn’t certain they would grant it him anyway.

The other way the pair could be matched is if the fight is unlicensed. This would mean that the fight would not be sanctioned by the board and therefore out of their control and jurisdiction. This wouldn’t go down well with the board for sure, and would Frank Warren want to give that kind of a snub to the board?

I don’t believe the fight will be announced on Tuesday, but by the feedback around the world it seems the majority want to see David Haye and Dereck Chisora get it on. There is no doubt about it the fight would generate massive interest and has suggested is the biggest heavyweight match up out there. But will it happen in July, I doubt it.
