Haye, Groves and Booth to attend ABA show May 16th
David Haye will take time out of his training preperations to face Dereck Chisora when he appears at Crystal Palace’s international boxing event later this month.

The former WBA heavyweight world champion will be joined by current British and Commonwealth super-middleweight champion George Groves, plus manager and trainer to both Adam Booth at the ABA evening, which pits Scotland against England, in Palace’s marquee on the pitch on Wednesday, May 16.

Guests will see seven bouts between current ABA champions as well as enjoying a three-course meal.

Booth, a Palace season ticket holder, said: “Both David and George are delighted to be able to attend the event at Crystal Palace. As fellow Londoners it is vital that we support any new international boxing venue, as well as give encouragement and support to the next generation of potential Olympic gold medallists and professional world champions.”

The announcement comes on the back of Haye’s pledge to return to the ring to fight Dereck Chisora on July 14.

Following on from the huge success of last year’s impressive 5-2
victory against Ireland, the England team – made up of 2012 ABA
Champions – will battle with some of Scotland’s most promising fighters.
The night will comprise of top ABA boxing from two of the strongest
boxing nations in the world.
Palace’s Chief Executive, Phil Alexander said: “We are delighted to
be able to work again with the ABA to put on another magnificent night
of boxing in the marquee. Last year’s event was recognised by the ABA as
one of the best in 2011, and this year’s will be bigger and better.
With the Olympics just around the corner it will be great to witness the
potential Olympic Champions of the future”.
