Haye, Chisora renew acquaintances through the fence

The David Haye vs Dereck Chisora fight has been and continues to be shrouded in controversy, since the two British boxers clashed in Munich at the Klitschko v Chisora post press conference in February.

Now the two rival Londoners want to settle their differences in the ring, but it is a decision that has angered the British Boxing Board of Control, when promoter Frank Warren, had the fight sanctioned by the Luxembourg Boxing Association, after Chisora had his licence suspended and Haye had given his up after his brief retirement.
The BBBofC in a statement threatened to ban any person taking part in the Upton Park show, including all boxers on the bill, their trainers managers and anyone else involved who holds a membership with the board.  Warren this week countered the boards press release with his own letter of action, which included his own threats, in a stand off that sees British boxing at a turning point and a delicate situation. But whatever comes of it, it seems the fight is going ahead.

Most people are split on should it be happening or not, but it is a fight that generates interest like no other has for a while, there is no doubt about it.

Here is a good video containing an edited selection of news articles and footage from the press conference and build-up to the heavyweight clash, which will take place at West Ham’s Upton Park Football ground on July 14
