This Saturday night WBO lightweight champion Ricky Burns (34-2, 9 KO’s)
will be making the second defence of his title against fellow Brit Kevin
Mitchell
(33-1, 24 KO’s) at the Scottish Exhibition Centre in Glasgow before an expected 10,000 fans in attendance

In this pre-fight interview with Burns, the Coatsbridge boxer, who still works part time in a sports shop says he is not always comfortable in the bright lights of a big fight and being the centre of attention and is happy when the hype is over and he can get back to work as he gets a bit embarrassed by it all! – Ricky Burns’ feet are firmly on the ground.

Burns says he is expecting 12 hard rounds of action against the Mitchell, who will be having his second crack at a world title, and Burns predicts that the fans will be in for an hell of a fight, when he locks horns with a man he classes has a friend outside of the ring.

A win for Burns is likely to set up an all Scottish world title fight against Scott Harrison next year. But Mitchell is geared up for this fight like never before and Burns will have to be at his very best to halt the challenge of the Londoner and hang onto his belt.
