Tommy Coyle says he can sense the anticipation growing for his Commonwealth lightweight title fight against Derry Mathews this weekend. The Hull fighter says he feels a mixture of excitement and nervousness has the biggest fight of his life fast approaches.

Local man Coyle has home advantage on the ‘Homecoming’ show in Hull when he clashes with ‘Twitter Rival’ the  former British champion Mathews at MS3 Craven Park.

A war of words have been had between the pair on social media, and when they recently met face to face recently at the press conference, there was some naughties with the heads! Has the pair stared each other out.

But Coyle is now just fully focused on the fight and the recent presser the pair were more subdued with their minds now just firmly on fight night. Coyle believes his training camp has been perfect for this fight, and he is so much looking forward to breaking onto the domestic title scene.

Organised by promoters Matchroom Boxing, Coyle will be joining Luke Campbell and Kell Brook and Lee Selby on what promises to be a great outdoor event and an unprecedented move by Eddie Hearn and his outfit, who recently signed Olympic gold medal star Campbell.
