Michael Sprott is the latest name to be confirmed for the latest Prizefighter tournament that takes place on Thursday November 14 from the York Hall, Bethnal Green.
Sprott (pictured) makes up the four confirmed members of the UK team that take on the USA in the eight men, one night heavyweight Prizefighter showcase, with a big purse prize for the victor. The show also features heavyweight prospect Anthony Joshua, who takes part in his 3rd pro fight.
Already a former Prizefighter champion Sprott beat Matt Skelton in the final of the fourth Heavyweight edition of Prizefighter back in October 2010, but in May 2011, Sprott lost to American Tye Fields in the Prizefighter International Heavyweights and will be looking to get one over his US rivals this time.
Sprott joins Hackney’s Larry Olubamiwo, Milton Keynes’ Matt Legg and Hertfordshire’s Tom Little in Team UK.
The USA team is lead by former Former multi weight world champion James ‘Light Out’ Toney (75-8-3) the big name of the competition among an interesting line-up of names. Toney, is joined in the US quartet by Californian Damian Wills, former World cruiserweight challenger Brian Minto and Florida’s Jason Gavern.
Olympic Gold medalist Anthony Joshua faces Croatian Hrvoje Kisicek, while his cousin, cruiserweight prospect Ben Ileyemi, meets Moses Matovu in his second pro outing.
