We catch up with Champs Camp coach Ensley Bingham who last weekend picked up the gyms second belt holder when Ryan Doyle defeated Michael Ramabeletsa to claim the vacant International Masters featherweight title with a points win at Bowler’s Arena in Manchester. Doyle joins Jimmy Kelly Jnr the other prospect from the gym who won the British Masters light-middleweight title last year.

The Champs Camp Gym in Moss Side Manchester, opened by in 1981 by the late Phil Martin was an hot bed of British boxing talent in the 80′s and 90′s and at one time boasted 4 British champion’s in the gym at the same time. The gym is now run by two of them champions and prodigies of Phil’s, in Bingo Bingham and Maurice ‘Hard’ Core and they are working to bring the glory days back to the Princess Road Gym.

In recent times they have had success with Steve Foster Jnr, winning the European title and now in Doyle, Kelly and a batch of up and coming prospects, the gym is thriving again, with the next generation of stars in the making.
