Former WBC world super-middleweight champion Robin Reid was commentating on the maiden Black Flash Promotions show as part of the British Boxers BBTV team with Barkery Jammeh and Jamie Albrecht.

Prior to the action Reid gave a great insight into his career when speaking with Barks and Jamie for the viewers on the night. He touched on his big fights including against Joe Calzaghe and Carl Froch and of course that amazing night when he ripped the world title from Vincento Nardiello with a 7th round TKO in Italy in 1996.

The Runcorn former boxer also remembers his controversial points loss to Sven Ottke in Italy, that is still considered one of the biggest robberies in a boxing ring.

Reid also talks about how he first met Pat Barrett after the pair sparred together when Reid was an amateur and Barrett British champion. Barrett later went on to coach Reid with Brian Hughes at the Collyhurst and Moston Lads Club and warrants Pat for helping him win the world title, they remain firm friends.

This is a great insight into the career of a great British boxer, enjoy! (interview about Reid’s career begins on video at 5:20)
