There was no late drama on the scales in Manchester today as both Anthony “Million Dollar” Crolla (31-4-3, 13 KOs) and Jorge “Golden Boy” Linares (40-3, 27 early) made weight at the first attempt for their WBA, WBC Silver and Ring magazine lightweight title bout at the city’s Arena.

Crolla hit the scales at 9st 8lbs 5oz; Linares came in at 9st 8lbs 2oz to ensure that the titles remain on the line for both men.

The fight will be shown live on Sky Sports tomorrow night as each man vies to surge ahead of the chasing 135lb pack by cementing their place at the top table in one of boxing’s hottest divisions.
