Anthony Crolla’s promoter Eddie Hearn says the boxer would be the fighter of the year if he wins his WBA world lightweight title defence against Jorge Linares on Saturday in what he feels will be a ‘fight of the year’ contender.
“It’s a huge fight, there is something about Anthony Crolla,” said Hearn.

“He’s the nicest man in boxing but it all used to seem a little jovial, like he couldn’t believe he was here.
“A win on Saturday turns him into a superstar. I think this is to be fight of the year, this victory.”
“In my opinion, he is the No 1 lightweight in the world,” he said. “Fans are going to see a real fight-of-the-year contender.”
“Crolla would be fighter of the year if he wins.”
