Declan Geraghty (13-1, 3 KO’s) extended his unbeaten run with an eight round decision over Johnson Tellez, 127 1/2lbs at the Bellahouston Leisure Centre in Glasgow.
The Nicaraguan conceded massive disadvantages in height and reach and didn’t know enough to really trouble Geraghty, 134lbs, The Irishman couldn’t make much of an impression on his negative visitor and was maybe guilty of trying to look flashy rather than concentrating on the basics but was comfortable throughout. He recorded a straightforward 80-72 victory.
