Eddie Hearn has told Sky Sports that Kal Yafai will meet Panama’s WBA World Super flyweight holder Luis Concepcion (35-4, 24 KOs) on December 10. “We believe he (Yafai) is the real deal,” said Hearn when revealing the news.
Birmingham’s Yafai (8st 5lbs) stopped Nicaragua’s Johnson Tellez (8st 10lbs 10oz) at 2:48 of the third at Birmingham’s Barclaycard Arena tonight to ensure that he vies for a world belt in his next outing. The 27-year-old was punch perfect, beating his man by KO to set up a Christmas treat. Tellez, 24, drops to 9-28-5 (6).
“It is all done,” added Hearn. “He will fight on the Anthony Joshua card in Manchester in December.”
