Hyde’s Marcus Morrison (14-0, 10KO’s), ticked over by outpointing Harry Matthews, 163lbs, in their scheduled six rounder. ’The Pocklington Rocket’ was outmatched in every department but gave his usual wholehearted effort. Eventually, Morrison’s speed and ability prevailed and he recorded a 60-55 victory.
Supremely conditioned, Morrison, 160 1/2lbs, is clearly a talent but has fought just three men with winning records whilst compiling his unbeaten run. He has no need for the training wheels anymore. There may be a couple of initial wobbles as he peddles his own way, but providing he is provided with the boxing equivalent of elbow and knee pads and given a sensible test he should be fine.
