Warrington lightweight Rhiannon Dixon has penned a new multi-fight deal with Matchroom Boxing following her victory for the Commonwealth title in Liverpool.

Dixon halted Wombourne’s Vicky Wilkinson in the sixth round with two devastating body shots to claim her first major title as a professional.

The 27 year old has now been rewarded with a fresh contract under promoter Eddie Hearn as her development continues into 2023.

Dixon turned professional in 2019 and has won all eight of her pro bouts since under the tutelage of former world lightweight champion Anthony Crolla.

Saturday night’s victory in Liverpool did however witness Dixon’s first victory inside the distance.

“I can’t believe it. Coming from White Collar and now I’m like Commonwealth champion, no one would ever have thought it”, Dixon told Matchroom post-fight.

“[The win] will be a massive confidence boost. I’m not gonna go out thinking I’m gonna start blowing everyone out, because I still need to learn and have these fights and get the rounds in.

“I’m just enjoying the journey and just learning.”
