Larry Olubamiwo, knocks down and stops Paul Butlin at 38 seconds of the eighth round to win the International Masters heavyweight title.
Butlin protested at the stoppage, after being dropped again by a right upper-cut, but he didn’t seem that hurt, but referee Terry O’ Connor decided he didn’t want Butlin to take anymore shots. An angry Butlin threw his gum shield out of the ring in disgust at what he thought was a premature end to his evening.
So Olubamiwo, the giant Hackney heavyweight moves on with a title around his waist and will be looking to step up to the next level soon enough, Larry is a man on a mission and now with title credentials of his own, maybe deserves to be considered as an opponent for the English championship held by another giant domestic heavyweight Manchester’s, Tyson Fury! who fights this Saturday on the undercard of Bernard Hopkins vs Jean Pascal in Quebec, Canada. – Fury vs Olubamiwo would be an intriguing match-up to make. Who would win? comment below…..
