The WBO Super Featherweight Champion, Ricky Burns, will make the third defence of his title against London’s Nicky Cook at Liverpool’s Echo Arena on July 16th in what will be his first fight away from his Scottish home as world champion.
Were expecting a tough fight, we always train for an hard twelve rounds, but I think I might have that little bit too much for him.I’m always confident without being quite arrogant, I treat boxing as my job I just need to go in there and do what I do and I know Nicky Cook will not take that belt off me.
I take each fight as it comes, throughout my career, even when I was amateur Ive always been prepared to box anybody and I can only fight who is put in-front of me.
There’s talks about bigger fight and that, but I have to get by Nicky Cook first for the bigger fights to happen, so fingers crossed.” – Ricky Burns
