Callum Smith wins Gold

I beat John Dignum from England 19-8 in the Semi final then beat Scotland’s Tommy Phil Bin 13-7 in the Final.

My main achievement to date is A Commonwealth Games Silver Medal from Delhi 2010.

Yes I’m planning on staying amateur and hopefully represent my country in the Olympic Games!

I do plan on turning pro eventually, but want to achieve as much as I can in the amateurs first.. So hopefully turn over after the Olympics!

Yes I feel I will adapt well to the pros when I turn over. I feel I have a good shot variation and the longer, slower rounds will suit me.

I’m very proud of all my brothers and look up to them in so many ways in and out the ring. Hopefully I can carry on following in their footsteps and achieve as much as I can.

Course I would love to one day win a World title and I still believe we will achieve that as a family. All my brothers are talented enough and capable of becoming World Champion.

I think I’m similar to all of them really in different ways but probably Stephen the most.

We were talking about this the other day and they seem to think I’m more Like Liam than the other two.

Yes it was horrible seeing him like that. I’ve never seen him lose convincingly never mind stopped so it was a shock to all of us. But I definitely think he will be a better fighter from it and know he will have his Belts back sooner or later.. He’s too talented not too.

Paul looked really good in camp and was boxing really well on the night. He just got caught with a great shot and never fully recovered. That’s boxing for you. It weren’t like he made a mistake and took a silly shot. His defence was good it just come round the side in his blind spot. But again he’ll be back at Middle and there’s definitely a lot more to come!

People are starting to see what we have knew all along with Liam. He sort of went under the radar a bit but now he’s starting to show his class and make a name for himself. Gonna be a big year for him!

I’ve just got to keep winning and putting in good performances then hopefully I can go to Istanbul and qualify for the Olympic Games! That’s my biggest goal!
