John Murray and Brandon Rios weigh-in for fight.
Brandon Rios made the required weight this morning in New York, he weighed 146.4 and the fight will go ahead. Rios was stripped of his WBA title yesterday after failing to make the 135lb lightweight limit, the required weight the day before the fight.

It will be only Murray who will be contesting the belt during the fight and Rios has had to pay Murray a reported £20,000 compensation. Rios came back to the scales 3 times but in the end was still over.

Brandon Rios fails to make the weight

If Rios wins the fight the WBA lightweight title will become vacant.

If Murray wins, he will become the champion. If the fight was a draw the title would become vacant.

Could Rios have taken former British and European champion Murray lightly? – Maybe, this is the best chance and maybe only chance Murray will ever have to win a genuine world title. Go for it John and bring that belt home.
