Doncaster’s heavyweight prospect David ‘The White Rhino’ Allen takes part in his 3rd professional outing on Saturday night when he takes on Bulgarian Deyan Mihailov on the undercard of Amir Khan vs Julio Diaz at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield.
Allen aged 21, (2-0, 1KO) talking to Kugan Cassius at the weigh-in for his fight, told iFilm London that he was excited to be on such a card and to be around the big names he usually just sees on the TV. The confident young boxer also added that he believes he is, ‘The best young heavyweight in Britain.
“Hughie Fury all them names, I’m better than all of them, but no one knows who I am yet but tomorrow night they will know who I am, I am the hardest puncher in the division already, Im the best young heavyweight and everybody will know that soon enough.” said Allen.
‘The White Rhino’ called that for reasons he cannot disclose, says he was given it by his manager Dennis Hobson, Allen will only say it’s got something to do with the horns! “I also think I am the prettiest young heavyweight out there.” Allen added with a cheeky smile!
“I’m going to develop into a handsome young man, me mum tells me.”
Allen is a good talker and has a great personality and if he can take that confidence into the ring and is as good as what he says he is, the British heavyweight division might just get a little more interesting in the coming years. “The journey is just beginning for me.” added Allen.
