Jack has been quoted as saying: “It’s going to happen next year, for sure. I’d prefer to fight DeGale to Julio Chavez Jr because he’s got the belt. I think he’s a better fighter than Chavez Jr.”
On the possibility of travelling to Britain for the clash, Jack went onto say: “If the money’s right, why not? Right now we’re focused on Las Vegas and doing it here in America. We can start with Chavez Jr but I heard he’s not ready yet. We’ll see.
“He’s a very tough guy who comes to fight but DeGale is a better fighter. I’m training now and I should be back in the ring around February. I’m waiting for Floyd [Mayweather] to tell me who I’m fighting.”
DeGale made the first defence of his IBF title last month out on the road when he earned a wide points decision over former long term reigning champion Lucian Bute in Quebec City, Canada.
