We are pleased to announce that BBTV’s coverage of Black Flash Promotion’s March 5th boxing event from the Middleton Arena in Manchester, will be re-shown on BoxNation next week.

The dedicated boxing channel will broadcast the full fight card which featured some of Manchester’s best rising talent.  Topping the bill is unbeaten cruiserweight Sam ‘Nowhere2’ Hyde who took on Lithuanian Rolandas Cesna for the International Challenge belt

Also on the card, the exciting, fast rising Manchester super-featherweight prospect Zelfa ‘Brown Flash’ Barrett, nephew of Pat, who faced over seas opposition, in tough former MMA fighter Aron Szilagyi from Hungary.

Other Manchester fighters on the bill from the Collyhurst and Moston stable, were light-middleweight Matthew Ryan, who had a good test, going in against the experienced and dangerous William Warburton from Atherton.

Alex Rutter, 22, is an unbeaten featherweight and a recent addition to the stable, Rutter is now trained by Barrett and has the potential to go far in the 9-stone division.

A local derby on the bill, and an interesting match-up was between two local lads from the same town, who both live a stone’s throw from the venue. Middleweight’s Aaron Michael Jnr and Darryl ‘Razor’ Sharp clash for local pride.

Pat Barrett, former British and European light-welterweight champion and founder of Black Flash Promotion’s has been working hard to build a new stable of fighters to follow on from the quality boxers to come out of the Collyhurst and Moston gym under renowned trainer the now retired Brian Hughes. Barrett and his coaches Thomas McDonagh and Paulie DaSilva are looking to continue the tradition and create a new crop of fighters in the name of Hughes and in respect of his past achievements.

Names such as, Barrett himself, Robin ReidMichael JenningsMatty HallAnthony FarnellThomas McDonaghScott Quigg put the club on the map and now there is a new generation coming through.

“I am over the moon that BoxNation have agreed to show our last promotion, it is a big step for us having only been going a year and I’d like to thank everyone who has helped or been associated with us in doing this and helping us grow.” said Barrett.

“It shows we are doing something right and it will be nice for the boxers to get that extra exposure and for others to see what we are trying to do up here in Manchester. Me and Chris (Maylett) have worked very hard and faced many challenges to put these shows together and to keep it going but we have stuck with it.

“It was all about building the lads up and getting their careers off the ground. At the beginning no-one else was prepared to do it or back us, so we did it ourselves and the people at BoxNation can see what we have created and respect the handwork we have put in.

“I would really like to thank everyone for making this happen, it is great for the boxers and we hope that we can work with BoxNation in the future on other shows. We obviously have Zelfa and Sean Ben Mulligan who are starting to make a name for themselves, but we also have a gym full of great talent coming through and there is plenty more to come from Black Flash Promotions.” added Barrett.

British Boxers set up BBTV last year to film and broadcast live, the Black Flash Promotion’s boxing shows, for free viewing on this website. The shows were a success and received great reviews helping the Black Flash boxers get some good early exposure. Working with Black Flash Promotions we were able to produce a good show on a small budget and we are delighted that BoxNation have agreed to show our last show on their channel.
