Former British light-middleweight champion and world title challenger Brian ‘The Lion’ Rose has opened his own boxing gym in the North shore district of his hometown Blackpool.

Rose says he has opened the gym to give something back to the community and the people who have supported him throughout his illustrious boxing career. – It will be the base where he will train for the rest of his career under coach Bobby Rimmer – The gym will also house it’s home amateur team under Brian’s old amateur coach Andy Sumner.

As well as this, the gym will be used as a facility for the public to use for workout sessions and personal one on ones with Brian, Bobby and the other coaches.

On Thursday night this week Brian officially opened his new base, with Bobby by his side and with the help of their friend Ricky “Hitman’ Hatton, who rang the bell with Brian to signal the start of the gym’s future.

We attended the opening night and while their spoke with Brian and Bobby about the new gym and the flit to Blackpool.

The Gym is at: 77 Talbot Road, Blackpool, FY1 1LL – Go along and join up or follow @Brian_Lion_Rose
