Former team GB member and multi decorated amateur star Jack Bateson from Leeds, is now making his way in the pro ranks with an unbeaten record of 6 wins, with two coming early.
Jack, 24, comes from a boxing family. His father Mark and uncle Martin are boxing coaches, managers and promoters and between them train and guide their lad.
His last fight was on the big show at Leeds’ Elland Road, on the undercard of Josh Warrington’s world title victory over Lee Selby and he, like Josh is a proud Leeds man and is starting to build up his own local following.
We went to visit Jack at his family home and gym to get to know and see what make him tick. Together with his uncle Martin, they tell us how it began, his career so far and what they feel the future holds.
Jack also tells us who his favourite current fighters and of all time and reveals he is looking for a new ring nickname!
We will be following the progress of Jack and making regular visits to Leeds to catch up and follow his progression from Kitten to Lion!
