Amidst a myriad of exciting battles this weekend, the collision of undefeated prospects between Manchester’s Brad Rea and Bournemouth’s Lee Cutler is one that has really captured the imagination of fight fans.
Having been widely touted for an extended period, the bout provides both prospects with a significant opportunity to excel their status to the next level and pursue domestic honours.
Speaking to BBTV, Rea told BBTV: “We are two kids that have come up the hard way – selling tickets on small hall shows and we both know this is our chance now, this is our shot to breakout and I think that’s why it’s going to make for such a good fight because we are both willing to put it on the line, as we know where it could lead to.”
Rea now trains out of Ricky Hatton’s gym in Manchester, an environment that he emphasised has allowed him to thrive and embrace top sparring.
The fight between Rea and Cutler takes place on the undercard of Lawrence Okolie’s wold title tilt against Krzysztof Głowacki on Saturday night from Wembley Arena, live on Sky Sports. The card also features the return of Liverpool puncher Anthony Fowler and top cruiserweight contender, Chris Billam-Smith.
