WBC, IBF and Ring Magazine 140lb champion Chantelle Cameron is slated to defend her titles against Argentina’s former lightweight champion Victoria Bustos on the Buatsi-Richards undercard on May 21st.

Cameron added the IBF strap to her WBC belt last time out, comfortably outpointing a game Mary McGee over ten rounds at London’s O2 Arena. The same venue will play host this time around as Cameron gears towards an undisputed title fight against America’s Kali Reis, who picked up the vacant WBO title to the WBA strap she already held in a close victory over Jessica Camara in November.

Bustos stands in the way of any ambitions for the Nottingham fighter tying up all of the belts however, previously sharing the ring with pound-for-pound greats Cecilia Braekhus and Katie Taylor, albeit losing on both occasions. ‘La Leona’ did however pick up the IBF title at 135lbs in 2013, defending the strap on three occasions. The experience of Cameron, at least as a professional, pales in comparison to that of her South American counterpart, and while the quality of Cameron cannot be doubted, her focus must remain intact if she is to become undisputed champion further down the line.
