BOXXER and Sky Sports officially announced on Wednesday that Hughie Fury and Michael Hunter‘s heavyweight world title eliminator clash will take place on October 29th at Birmingham’s Resorts World Arena.

The pair were originally meant to clash in Manchester in May before Fury was forced to withdraw through illness, raising questions over whether the fight would be rearranged or if both men would move on to alternative routes as they continue to hunt down a shot at world honours.

Manchester’s Fury, whose cousin Tyson holds the WBC version of the heavyweight title, won’t have fought in over twelve months by the time he walks to the ring on October 29th following his fifth-round retirement victory over Christian Hammer in the same month last year. Hunter meanwhile enters the bout off a ten-round split-decision draw against Jerry Forrest in December.

The undercard is yet to be announced at the time of writing.
