Unified super-bantamweight champion Ellie Scotney has called for a fight with another world champion following her win in Nottingham at the weekend.

Scotney, 10-0, defended her IBF and WBO super-bantamweight titles with a unanimous decision victory over Mea Motu on Saturday at the Nottingham Arena.

The bout marked her fourth world title fight in her 10-fight career.

While she remains open to a meeting with the remaining champions at 122lbs, Scotney has also named another opponent she would be up for facing in her post-fight interview.

Ellie Scotney says she wants to fight Skye Nicolson at featherweight

Scotney is one of the three current world super-bantamweight champions in the female code.

The 27-year-old already holds the IBF and WBO belts, while Nazarena Romero holds the WBA and Yamileth Mercado the WBC.

Victories over the latter pair would see Scotney become undisputed champion at the weight, but the Shane McGuigan-trained fighter is also open to a meeting with WBC featherweight champion Skye Nicolson.

Speaking to DAZN at the weekend, she said: “I’ve got four of the belts [including the IBO and Ring Magazine titles] and I’m missing the next two.

“People have got to be willing to take the fights and people have got to be willing to pay, but I sit here and feel like getting names is what gets you noticed.

“I’m looking at featherweight and Skye Nicolson’s a fight I want. I’ll be pushing for that too.”

Skye Nicolson to defend featherweight title in Australia on March 22nd

Former Tokyo 2020 Olympian Nicolson has also already picked up a world title despite only being 12 fights into her own career.

The Australian defeated Sarah Mahfoud in April last year to win the vacant WBC crown at 126lbs and has since made two defences.

Her third is set to take place in her native Australia on March 22nd, on the undercard of former lightweight champion George Kambosos‘ homecoming in Sydney.

Tiara Brown, who is rated number one challenger with the WBC, is mooted as the opponent.
