Promoter Frank Warren was left livid today after finding out that Jurgen Braehmer had pulled out of his title defence against Nathan Cleverly this Saturday night and says he only found out himself on the Internet!

Warren who had someone sat at the airport waiting for the German to arrive today and also had a press conference arranged, only to find out that Braehmer had decided not travel to the UK and had pulled out of the fight because of a cut suffered in training.
LONDON, ENGLAND - OCTOBER 14: (L-R) Kell Broo...

An opponent is still being sought for Cleverly and Warren is hoping that the WBO will strip Braehmer of the title and present interim champion Cleverly with it, so that Cleverly can still fight for the world title, which if awarded, would extraordinarily be his FIRST defence.

Possible opponent being mentioned for a surprise all British world title fight at the O2 arena on Saturday night is commonwealth belt holder Tony Bellew, the unbeaten Liverpool champion currently training to face Ovill McKenzie in defence of his title and also the Lonsdale belt is said to be ready to step into the fight at just four days notice.
Warren admits to only finding out about Braehmers no show on the Internet, and says he has heard nothing from Braehmers people and it seems professional standards have not been adhered to according to an animated Warren.

“Braehmer was due to fly into the UK on Tuesday. We got a call saying that he had missed his flight, but would land in the UK on Wednesday at 12pm. We then sent a car to pick him up from the airport, but he didn’t show up. said Warren.

“I then read on the Internet that he has a cut and won’t be fighting. We then found out that his team had emailed the hotel at 8.30am on Wednesday morning and cancelled their rooms.

“Neither Braehmer nor his promoters have picked up the phone and had the decency to explain to me what is going on. He is completely unprofessional, and the WBO should impose the ultimate sanction, which is to strip him of his title. It’s one of the most unprofessional things I have seen in my time in boxing. It’s a complete joke, an utter disgrace.” Warren added. (full interview with Warren above video) www.frankwarren.tv
