The legendary Roberto Duran comes to the UK on May 1st and will guest star, on a night when fans and names from the boxing world gather at The Marriot Hotel in Bristol to pay tribute to ‘Hands of Stone’

The former four weight world champion, fought all the very best fighters of his era, from lightweight to super-middleweight in a 33 year professional career starting on February 1968 and ending in July 2001.

Duran turned professional at 16 and went on to have 119 fights, he won 103 of them and scored 70 knockouts along the way.

The Panamanian boxer mixed it with the likes of Ken Buchanan, Esteban De Jesus, Sugar Ray Leonard, Wilfred Benitez, Marvin Hagler and Thomas Hearns on his way to legendary status.


‘Some fighters have been, some never will be and some are always remember as great fighters. Several fighters are remember by their generation of fight fans, then forgotten, or perhaps better known as ‘the guy who fought so and so’ But every so often a man will transcend generations of fight fans, some fighters will always be considered great, some fighters are simply legends and heroes.
