Here is the full video round by round of the George Groves v James DeGale amateur fight – The two young Dale Youth boxers, who clash in the professional ring on Saturday night for the British and European titles, first faced each other in combat on 6th October 2006.
Going into the bout, now 5 years ago. Groves was 18 and DeGale 21 and many had expected DeGale to win after two straight ABA titles in 2004 and 2005 and a Commonwealth Bronze medal in March.
However, despite boxing earlier the same day, Groves battled his way to victory in a close fight. For Degale, it was his first domestic loss in over three years. For Groves, it was the beginning of his successful road to the Senior ABA title he would then defend in 2008. grovesvdegale.com
