27th September 2011

Unbeaten British & Commonwealth Champion Martin Murray will face Felix Sturm for the German world champion’s WBA Middleweight title in Mannheim Germany on December 2nd.
Murray 29, from St Helen’s is
officially ranked No3 by the WBA and this is an oppertunity out of the blue, after it was thought that Sturm would face Birmingham’s Matthew Macklin in a rematch after Sturm’s controversial points win over Macklin in his last fight.

But Macklin’s loss is Murrays gain and the St Helen’s boxer is hoping that more of his fans can make the trip to the continent to give him the support and join his already dedicated ‘Barmy Army’ set of fans, who follow him to every contest.

As yet no packages have been sorted for the Barmy Army however you can be kept up to date with the latest news on travel arrangements and tickets by visiting Murrays website:

Sturms home ground of Germany the SAP Arena
has room for 15000 people and is used for events from concerts to sport
and December the 2nd will be hosting the WBA Middleweight fight in which
we are hoping Martin Murray can bring the world Championship belt back
to Britain.
