Manchester’s John Murray who was due to fight in America on 19th March, has decided to pull out of the fight, when opponent Anthony Mezaache vacated the European title.
The fight was due to take place in North Carolina but French champion Mezaache, vacated his belt last week prompting US cable network, Showtime, not much time to find a suitable replacement opponent.
It is thought the Frenchman’s decision would suggest that he is about to challenge the WBC lightweight champion Edwin Valero.
Instead, Murray has decided to concentrate on his rearranged European title clash with Ukrainian, Andrei Kudriatsev, the deadline for purse bids is the 24th March 2010.
