British Boxing – Up-Coming British Title Fights in 2010

Paul Smith defends his British title

The British Boxing Board of Control have submitted the latest British title fight Circular, from Flyweight to Heavyweight, we have some good fights to look forward to in the coming months.

British Boxers will be doing reports, interviews and features on all the following fights in the run up to them.

HEAVYWEIGHT

DANNY WILLIAMS (Holder) v SAM SEXTON

The above contest to be promoted by Promoter Frank Warren will take place at West Ham Football Club, Upton Park on May 15 2010.

JOHN MCDERMOTT v TYSON FURY

The above final eliminator contest to be promoted by Promoter Mick Hennessy will take place on Saturday, 22nd May 2010 at a venue as yet to be advised.

Please note that this contest is also for the Vacant English Heavyweight Championship.

SUPER MIDDLEWEIGHT
PAUL SMITH (Holder) v BRIAN MAGEE

The Stewards decided to put out the above contest for purse bids to be submitted in accordance with the Terms and Conditions attached to the Board’s Head Office by 12.00noon on Wednesday, 12th May 2010, the contest to take place by the end of July 2010. The Purse to be split 50/50% to each boxer.

KENNY ANDERSON v TONY QUIGLEY

The Stewards decided to put out the above final eliminator contest for purse bids to be submitted in accordance with the Terms and Conditions attached to the Board’s Head Office by
12.00noon on Wednesday, 12th May 2010, the contest to take place by the end of July 2010.

LIGHT MIDDLEWEIGHT

SAM WEBB (Holder) v BRIAN ROSE

The above contest to be promoted by Promoter Frank Maloney will take place at a venue and on a date as yet to be advised.

WELTERWEIGHT

JOHN O’DONNELL v MICHAEL JENNINGS

Following the relinquishment of the Championship by Kell Brook, the Stewards decided to put out the above contest for purse bids to be submitted in accordance with the Terms and Conditions attached to the Board’s Head Office by 12.00noon on Wednesday, 12th May 2010, the contest to take place by the end of July 2010.

LIGHT WELTERWEIGHT

STEVIE WILLIAMS (Holder) v NIGEL WRIGHT

The Stewards decided to put out the above eliminator contest for purse bids to be submitted in accordance with the Terms and Conditions attached to the Board’s Head Office by 12.00noon on Wednesday, 12th May 2010, the contest to take place by the end of July 2010.

This contest is also for the English Light Welterweight Championship.

LIGHTWEIGHT (Eliminator)

GARY BUCKLAND v RYAN BRAWLEY

Following the opening of purse bids at Head Office at 12.00.noon on Wednesday, 14th April, the winning bid was submitted by Promoter Barry Hearn. The contest to take place on a date and at a venue as yet to be advised.

Please note that this contest is also for the Celtic lightweight Championship.

JOHN WATSON v WILLIE LIMOND

No purse bids were received for the above eliminator contest.

SUPER FEATHERWEIGHT

GARY SYKES (Holder) v KEVIN O’HARA

The Stewards approved an application from Promoter Frank Maloney for Gary Sykes to make a voluntary defence of the Championship to take place at a venue and on a date as yet to be advised

BANTAMWEIGHT

JAMIE MCDONNELL (Holder) v IAN NAPA

The Stewards approved an application from Promoter Frank Maloney for Shinny Bayaar to make a voluntary defence of the Championship to take place at Goresbrook Leisure Centre, Dagenham on Friday, 14th May 2010.
