Trainer Anthony Farnell has backed Matthew Hall for Euro glory next weekend.
The Mancunian hot-shot tackles Lukas Konecny at the LG Arena, Birmingham, on September 18th.
It forms part of Frank Warren‘s Magnificent Seven show live and exclusive on Sky Box Office.
Until last week, Hall was not even on the card.
But he stepped in after European light-middleweight champion Ryan Rhodes withdraw through injury.
Now he fights for the vacant belt.
And young trainer Farnell, himself a former WBU champion, says Hall is more than ready for his shot.
“Matthew was working hard for a title fight the week after, so it was pretty straightforward to make the switch,” said Farnell.
“Since he got the news he has been really buzzing. I really believe that Hall can win this fight, and if I didn’t think that then I would not have allowed him to take it.
“Konecny is an experienced campaigner and he has fought for a world title before.
“But you don’t have to go looking for him, and with the kind of power Hall has, that could play right into our hands.
“Matthew has had some great sparring with the likes of Frankie Gavin and Tony Bellew, and I promise that he will deliver next Saturday.
“He’s had a couple of set backs in the past, but that makes him more determined than ever before to capitalise on this unexpected chance.”
