In an exclusive interview with Ciaran Gibbons, former super-middleweight and light-heavyweight world champion Joe Calzaghe, reveals he would have beaten current world number one at his old weight, Andre Ward, the fantastic unbeaten American, who beat Calzaghe’s British counter part Carl Froch last year.

Welshman Calzaghe who remained unbeaten throughout a 15 year career, retiring in …… undefeated in 46 fights, 32 KO’s and beating some of the best boxers of his era, is regarded by many experts to be the best ever British boxer.
It would be a tough fight, but I’d win.”Joe Calzaghe asked if he would be Ward in his prime
Asked how he would have gone about fighting Andre Ward? – Calzaghe responded as confidently as he did in his heyday when he told Gibbons; “If I had fought Andre Ward in my prime? I’d have beat him!
“Of course I’m gonna say that and I think I would. Andre is a good fighter, but I honestly believe that I’d be too busy, too many angles, too strong.

“It would be a tough fight, but I’d win.” added Calzaghe.
