Heavyweight Lee Carter (0-2) is a popular figure on the Manchester fight scene. But after a disappointing start to his professional career, proud ex soldier Carter, 34 now finds himself fighting for his career.

With the support of his ex military connections and great fan base in the local areas, Lee now enters the next stage of his career, a move to the Champs Camp in Moss Side to team up with quality trainer and ex amateur ABA title holder Dan Murray.

We caught up with Lee and Dan who were in a jovial and confident mood ahead of their first outing together on 21st April on a stacked VIP Promotions show at the Victoria Warehouse.

We discussed the previous two losses, including that concussive KO loss in his last fight, the new partnership and the future that Lee has in the sport. Ever the realist, Lee gives his honest assessment of where he goes next and has a laugh speaking about some of the things he does to raise money for some of the military charities he is close to. Whatever happens, this is going to be a fun ride, get on board. Interview by Aky Karim.
