Dillian Whyte has responded to Anthony Joshua‘s peculiar social media posts demanding he “makes the fight” with his old rival.
Whyte, who defeated Joshua in the amateurs before the latter levelled the score with a knockout victory in 2015, branded Joshua a “f***ing weird guy” in a social media post of his own on Saturday.
The tweet read: “How’s about you stop being a bitch and let’s make the fight you f***ing weird guy always talking shit tweeting stuff then deleting be a man you little bitch @anthonyjoshua.”
Joshua uploaded a series of puzzling posts on Friday evening in response to reports that talks had begun for a rematch with Whyte set for this summer.
The former two-time heavyweight champion said he was unaware of any talks regarding a second fight with Whyte, despite promoter Eddie Hearn telling iFL TV earlier in the day that an offer was being prepared by Team Joshua.
Joshua defeated Whyte in his last fight before fighting for a world title in 2015.
Despite a shaky start, the London 2012 gold medalist broke Whyte down before landing a seventh-round uppercut to claim the vacant British heavyweight title at the O2 Arena.
Whyte has since dusted himself off and fought for the WBC version of the world title in April last year, losing inside six rounds to fellow Brit Tyson Fury.
The 35-year-old returned with a close-fought majority decision win against Jermaine Franklin in November, the same opponent Joshua outpointed in his own return earlier this year.
