Matchroom Boxing have relaunched their famous Prizefighter tournament in Japan with a
$1,000,000 jackpot prize and $100,000 knockout bonus.

Matchroom have scrapped the familiar format of 3X3 minute rounds and the quarters, semis and
final all on the same night.

The new format will consist of 10 and 12 round fights on three separate fight nights with the quarter-finals on March 31st in Nagoya.

Fans shouldn’t fear about a lack of knockouts because Matchroom are giving a $100,000 knockout bonus to push the fighters for a stoppage.

The first tournament will be at middleweight and will feature Brits Kieron Conway (20-3-1, 5 KOs) and Mark Dickinson (6-0, 2 KOs) alongside Irishman Aaron McKenna (18-0, 9 KOs).

Conway will be looking follow up his stoppage win over Linus Udofia when he faces China’s Ainiwaer Yilixiati (19-1, 14 KOs).

Dickinson comes into the tournament as the wildcard and has it all to do when he faces France’s
undefeated 2016 Olympian Anauel Ngamissengue (13-0, 8 KOs).

McKenna comes in as one of the favourites to go all the way and will face the young unbeaten
American-Puerto Rican Jeovanny Estela (14-0, 5 KOs).

The other quarter-final is made up of Japanese champion Riku Kunimoto (10-1, 4 KOs) against
mandatory challenger Eiki Kani (8-3-3, 4 KOs).

“With a $100k knockout prize pot per event, the fighters will be going all out. It promises to be a
thrilling spectacle, filled with tough 50-50 fights, that will capture attention around the world.

“The $1 million Prizefighter series, featuring top middleweight contenders, will undoubtedly

.

The early version of Prize Fighter was used to launch the career of world champions such as Rocky Fielding, Gavin Rees, Jono Carroll and Terry Flanagan.

Now this current crop of middleweight talents will not just fight for a $1,000,000 jackpot but for a shot at the ultimate prize – a world title.
