Carl Froch is ready to take Andre Ward into deep boxing waters when the two super middleweight champions finally collide to contest the Super Six super-middleweight final in Atlantic City on 29 October.

The bout will bring down the curtain on the fantastic two-year tournament which has seen Froch beat Jermain Taylor, Andre Dirrell, Arthur Abraham and Glen Johnson to reach the pinnacle of the final, when he meets the man regarded as the best US boxer behind the great Floyd Mayweather.

Froch from Nottingham is the WBC belt holder and Ward the WBA king Ward, The American is regarded as the best in the weight class and will be the major scalp Froch will need if he is to realise his ring ambitions.

Ward, who is unbeaten in 24 professional fights, has been installed as the bookies favourite, but Froch will believe that Ward does not possess the power to trouble him in this intriguing unification bout.
