In the countdown to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, young radio journalists from award-winning in-house radio station Roundhouse Radio have created a series of podcasts investigating the lives of young boxers pursuing their dream of a place in Team GB, and examining their home city’s preparations as it readies itself for ‘The Greatest Show on Earth’.

Following the stories of 5 young boxers, the reporters explore the elation and disappointment of the Team GB selection process, the emergence of women’s boxing as an Olympic event for the first time, the pressures of growing up in a boxing family and the conflicts that arise from juggling an elite sporting career with the pressures of work and education.

Now in its 2nd Series, Round 1 provides a unique insight into youth GB boxing and has gone from strength to strength, receiving the Olympic Inspire Mark in 2010.
